British interior designer and architect Jonathan Reed is known for his dramatic interiors, spaces meticulously designed for high-flying clientele including Jordanian royalty, David Bowie, Elle Macpherson and Iman. Regardless of this, the London-based designer maintains a decidedly low profile, remaining intentionally under the radar. Have a look at some of Studio Reed‘s most inspiring projects!

It’s a given that each Studio Reed interior is unique, but there’s no mistaking Reed’s cool neutrals, pared-down styling and bespoke furniture. He defines his style as ‘authentic, eclectic and crafts-based’.
Reed worked in retail design and development at Hackett and Polo Ralph Lauren, before establishing his own studio in 1996. To date, he employs 15 architects and interior designers, and another eight furniture designers. ‘Jonathan designs custom-made furniture using new, often undiscovered, hand-crafted materials and skills, set against a backdrop of finishes that are tasteful and muted,’ says lighting designer Sally Storey. ‘The result is warm, evocative and appropriate.’
